Benjamin Henderson and Friends

Benjamin Henderson is no stranger to Left Coast Live. He’s performed our festival the past two years with his band Good Hustle and we love having him! Ben is well known in our community as “a bandit with a heart of gold.” He’s an amazing artist who’s songs eclipse all genres of music, telling his listeners stories with beats that everyone can dance to. He’s magnetic on stage with a powerful voice and an obvious musical talent that spans over various instruments. His passion and energy is undeniable and his stage presence unforgettable. Ben has released two EPs in the past 3 years; Dirty Birdies in 2008 and Get Me Wrong in 2009.

Chosen by local paper Metro as Best Singer/Songwriter in 2010, we are proud to have Ben perform at LCL this year with his friends Endika Currier (Panthelion) on bass, Anthony Olyaee (Dark Heavens) on drums, and Dan McKee (Good Hustle, Runaway 5) on backing vocals. Metro also did a nice feature on Ben a few years back that really let’s you know more about the man behind the music.

Polaris At Noon

Two years after removing himself from the world to do something new, Jason Suwito and Polaris at Noon are returning with a second effort this April. “Though I’m very proud of what I accomplished with Season One, I was all over the place and really bursting at the seams in regards to what I wanted to do creatively. This time around, I really tried to focus and figure out who Polaris at Noon is,” states Suwito.

Polaris at Noon has been building their name and sound up and down the west coast developing for the upcoming EP. Suwito returned to his Orange County studio where he wrote, performed, recorded, mixed and mastered the entire effort himself. “I’m very confident in what my music has become and looking forward to getting my band out there and back on the road.”

Polaris at Noon seamlessly fuses electronic music with pop/rock that has garnered great esteem from fans of The Sounds, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, MSTRKRFT, and more. Currently playing regional dates and booking nationals for the summer, Polaris at Noon’s show is one not to miss. “We have a few surprises at our show. It’s a pure dance party and we really look forward to people getting out and catching it.”

Beta State

Beta State

When Campbell band Strata parted ways a few years back, singer Eric Victorino formed The Limousines while guitarist Ryan Hernandez and drummer Adrian Robison ventured off to form Beta State with friend and bassist Justin Kastner. After a year of auditioning vocalists, they finally found the very talented Matt McDonald, and with their line-up complete, the band wrote and recorded their debut album “Stars.”

Known for their ambient rock sounds set by guitarist Hernandez’s lush delays and reverb, it’s obvious Beta State is highly influenced by Los Gatos art-rock kings Dredg. Filled with heartfelt vocals and a positive message of hope, love, and self discovery, this band resonates in the hearts of many and has made quite an impact on the Bay Area music scene.

Beta State worked with local production company Element 151 on two music videos this year for their singles “I Will Remember You” and “Stars,” which both premiered on Live 105′s website to an overwhelming online response. This lead to the band playing the local band stage at Live 105′s BFD in May 2011. They’ve also charted on CMJ as the #12 most added album for all of college radio in December 2010. Currently working on a new album with producer Erik Ron (Panic at the Disco, D.R.U.G.S., The Academy Is…, Saosin), the band hopes to release an album later this year.
