Silicon Valley Roller Girls Demo Track
Left Coast Live is proud to announce that we partnered up with the Silicon Valley Roller Girls to bring you a demo track on Friday, June 25 from 6 to 9pm, in the parking lot next to Anno Domini! All LCL ticket holders will get the opportunity to check out three 30 minute bouts, while specially selected Left Coast Live bands play up against the beautiful mural. Plus these amazing ladies will be rockin’ and rollin’ around the streets on Saturday night!
Silicon Valley Roller Girls (SVRG) is an all-female flat track roller derby league established in 2007 that aims to bring an additional exciting sport to the communities of Silicon Valley and allows women from all walks of life a chance to show their athleticism, intelligence, individuality, inner beauty and strength by participating in the subculture phenomenon of roller derby. SVRG prides themselves on being an established non-profit organization that works with many community partners, who’s “mission aligns with LCL to assist in establishing a more cultural and healthy development for our community benefit” [Death by Dollface, Former SVRG President]. We are excited to work with such diverse, energetic, and accomplished ladies to show off their sport, skills and athleticism to the community in such a fun-filled setting!
Currently this Silicon Valley league is made up of two teams, the Dot.Kamikazes and the KillaBytes, plus they just announced an eight-week Junior Derby camp for this summer to teach skating skills and non-contact roller derby. There’s also some great momentum right now because the Dot.Kamikazes are currently dominating with 8 wins and only 2 loses, plus the Dots went undefeated at the Bakersfield Dust Bowl Tournament in Bakersfield! Their next home game is Sat July 10, with the Dot.Kamikazes taking on the Treasure Valley Rollergirls, and the Killabytes up against ACDG. Plus SVRG are now on air, so tune in to Channel 15 to re-experience some of their past bouts!
