Ensemble Sound Installation At Philadelphia Institute for Contemporary Art
Do you have an installation project related to music or sound innovation that you would like to share with hundreds of festival goers in a fun, interactive setting?
Please Do Disturb : For two days Left Coast Live will take over the entire Ramada MotorLodge in downtown San Jose transforming the 74 room motel into the hub of San Jose’s funnest music festival. In addition to a performance stage and beer garden set up by the pool in the internal parking courtyard, various ground-floor rooms will be transformed into installation venues, a vinyl collectors dig/dug, gallery space, and musician workshop spaces. There will also be additional outdoor installation/booth exhibition opportunities located throughout the various festival venues on both nights. Left Coast Live is seeking interested installation artists to present their work in several of the motel rooms and additional festival locations.
The theme of the festival is “The Sound of Things to Come.” Artist submitting to this call should take this theme into consideration. Motel room spaces are roughly 12Wx20Lx9H. Artists should assume typical lighting, climate control and electrical capacity for a motel room. Installation viewing for festival goers is 5pm-11pm on June 25 and 26. Apply here, deadline is June 4th.
In addition to exhibiting your work for thousands of festival goers, selected participants will also receive free passes to the weeklong festival.
Interested participants are asked to submit a short description (not to exceed one page) of their project by June 4. Links to past related work or relevant information is appreciated.
